    Born in Brooklyn, New York
    Commercial, portrait and fashion photographer
    Best known for a collection of 2500 photos of Marilyn Monroe taken over a three day period, six weeks before her death
    Photos published in 'The Last Sitting' (1982) and 'The Complete Last Sitting' (2000)
    Also photographed Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren and Twiggy
    Co-directed the documentary 'Jazz on a Summer's Day' (1959)

Why he might be annoying:

    He dropped out of school at age 16.
    He abused amphetamines. (And after recovering, he photographed the drugs he took for 'The Pill Book.')
    He married his third wife, who was 40 years younger than him, in secret.
    He re-created several of his 'Last Sitting' pictures with Lindsay Lohan.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His 'Driest of the Dry' campaign for Smirnoff (1955), featuring images such as the upside-down reflection of the Great Pyramid in a vodka glass, was called 'the most influential break with traditional advertising photography.'
    'Jazz on a Summer's Day' was deemed 'culturally significant' by the Library of Congress and selected for the National Film Registry.
    He developed an incredible rapport with his subjects.
    His photos of Monroe captured both her sex appeal and her vulnerability.
