    He is yet another Iraq hawk who avoided service in Vietnam, in this case by claiming to have a bad hip thanks to a high school football injury.
    He has extensive ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
    He claimed the Taliban posed no threat to the US.
    His wife doubles as his campaign manager.
    When the House considered new ethics rules that would ban hiring spouses, he complained, 'It's gonna hurt me. My family would be deprived of that income.'
    Defending the Bush Administration's policy of extraordinary rendition, he said torturing one innocent person would be a 'fair price' to pay to lock up fifty terrorists.

    He decried human rights abuses by China and used his position on the International Relations Committee to deny the country Most Favored Nation trading status.
    He co-sponsored a bill to prevent the Department of Justice from prosecuting patients in medical marijuana programs.
