Hockey Coach

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was a journeyman forward, playing on eight teams across five different leagues.
He wore sweaters on the bench instead of the conventional suit and tie during his tenure with the Kings.
His teams were notorious for having good regular seasons and faltering in the first round of the playoffs.
He was fired by the Devils with nine games left in the 1999-2000 season; the Devils would go on to win the Stanley Cup three months later.
He holds the NHL's dubious distinction of being fired by a team with a winning record on two occasions.
He's been described as being extremely prickly by former players.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of the U.S. men's hockey team that captured a silver medal at the Olympics (1972).
He was the first American born player to win an MVP award in any level of professional hockey.
He finished among the top 10 all-time scorers in the history of the World Hockey Association.
He earned two Stanley Cup rings with the Devils.
He did not mind the attention he received for his decision to wear a sweater behind the bench while coaching the Kings.
