Elizabeth has since owned over 30 corgis (and a handful of 'dorgis' -- corgi/dachshund mixes) all descended from Susan

Prince Philip was not a fan, later carping to the Queen, 'Bloody dogs! Why do you have so many?'
On various occasions at Buckingham Palace, she bit a policeman, a sentry, a detective and the royal clock winder.
When Susan's gravestone was being prepared, Elizabeth pedantically asked that the inscription be changed from 'for 15 years the faithful companion of the Queen' to 'almost 15 years.'

Elizabeth refused to be separated from her and brought Susan along during her honeymoon. (Maybe Prince Philip's complaint was just jealousy.)
Elizabeth prepared biscuits and gravy herself for Susan (and her descendants) at tea time.
Elizabeth personally drew up the plans for a memorial to her at the royal residence of Sandringham House.
