The Resume

    (May 11, 1992-October 21, 2023)
    Born in Conquieros, Portugal
    Purebred Rafael do Alentejo
    Owned by Leonel Costa
Recognized by Guinness Records as the world's oldest dog ever at an age of 30 years 266 days (as of February 1, 2023)

Why he might be annoying:

Due to failing eyesight as he aged, he tends to bump into things while walking.
Chilla, an Australian cattle dog/Labrador mix died at the reported age of 32 years 3 days (March 8, 1983), but Guinness doesn't recognize him due to insufficient documentation of his birth.
Costa did not realize Bobi's age was exceptional until he read about a 23-year-old chihuahua named Spike being recognized as the oldest living dog earlier in 2023.
Even then, while applying to Guinness for certification as oldest living dog, Costa did not expect Bobi to also qualify as the oldest dog of all time.

Why he might not be annoying:

Because of how many animals the family already had, Leonel's father took Bobi's littermates away to be buried alive, but overlooked Bobi.
After realizing Bobi was still alive, Leonel and his brothers kept his survival a secret until after he opened his eyes, figuring their parents could no longer kill the puppy at that point. ('They screamed a lot and punished us, but it was worth it and for a good reason.')
Costa suggested that living in a 'calm, peaceful environment far from the cities' contributed to Bobi's longevity.
He has never been chained up or attached to a leash.
He more than doubled his breed's average life expectancy of 12-14 years.
