The Resume

    (March 20, 1930-May 25, 2021)
Born in New York City, New York
    Birth name was Ilene Goldman
Recorded the albums 'Songs for Sinners' (1959), 'Knockers Up!' (1960), 'Sin-Sational' (1961), 'Rusty Warren Bounces Back' (1961), 'Rusty Warren in Orbit' (1962), 'Sex-x-ponent' (1964), 'Rusty Rides Again' (1967), 'Bottoms Up!' (1969), and 'Sexplosion' (1977)

Why she might be annoying:

'Time' dismissed her as 'just another dirty comedian who deprives sex of all its grace and sophistication.' (1963)
Her record sales slumped in the late 60s. (As one career retrospective asked, 'Why hear about knockers when you could go and see the real deal down the street?')
She tried to evoke memories of her most successful album with such follow-ups as 'More Knockers Up!' (1965) and 'Knockers Up '76' (1976).

Why she might not be annoying:

She studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and played piano at Tanglewood as part of a tribute to Chopin conducted by Arthur Fiedler.
'Knockers Up' stayed on the Billboard album chart for over three years, peaking in the Top 10.
Seven of her albums were certified gold.
At her peak, she earned $7,500 for a nightclub appearance and regularly outdrew comedians like Mort Sahl and Shelley Berman.
She achieved her success without radio airplay or national TV appearances.
She relied on innuendo and avoided four-letter words, and joked 'Today they could make lullabies from my lyrics.'
