Drafted 68th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft and 46th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1977 WHA Amateur Draft
Defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres (1977-79), St. Louis Blues (1980-83), Toronto Maple Leafs (1983-85) and the Minnesota North Stars (1985-86)
Interim head coach for the New York Islanders (1998-99)
Head coach and general manager for the Ontario Hockey League's Barrie Colts (1999-2000)

Why he might be annoying:

He was a journeyman player, as he played on 16 teams in six different leagues on two continents.
Some hockey pundits went as far as saying having him, Mike Milbury and Charles Wang in charge of hockey operations altogether was too much crazy for one team to handle.
His tenure in Barrie was remembered for the dysfunctional atmosphere he oversaw.
He was stripped of his general manager duties by the Ontario Hockey League, after it was revealed he smuggled a Ukrainian-born player across the Canada-U.S. border in the baggage compartment of the team bus , rather then file the proper visa permits to allow him to legally enter the country.
As a result of this violation, he was prohibited from crossing into the United States, which proved to be problematic for the OHL Championship Series, as he couldn't coach Barrie's road games in Plymouth, Michigan.
He failed to keep the 'Brampton Boys' stable, led by both Sheldon Keefe and Mike Danton under control, which led to the four players playing an undisciplined, violent, reckless style.
He was fined by the CHL, after he walked out of the Halifax Metro Centre without conducting any interviews to the media, following Barrie's loss in the Memorial Cup championship game (2000).

Why he might not be annoying:

He acquired Italian citizenship and was eligible to play for that country's national team.
He guided the Barrie Colts to the franchise's first OHL championship (2000).
What made the feat so unique was that he did it with a team, which was rife with dissention all season long.
Despite his North American coaching career being remembered for his time in Long Island and in Barrie, he had a successful run in the European leagues.
He admitted in his later years that his bombastic coaching style may have rubbed people the wrong way.
He owned up to his shortcomings in Barrie, citing he was ill-prepared to handle the turmoil he inherited upon taking the job.
