Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

Despite playing professionally since 1973, many casual hockey pundits simply acknowledge his NHL years.
He was frequently snubbed for the Norris Trophy, despite being considered one of the NHL's best two way defensemen.
His hockey career was extremely overshadowed by that of his father.
He slid into the pointed metal center of the net and cut a five inch gash in his upper thigh, which led the Whalers to believe he wouldn't be able to live up to his potential, so they traded him to Philadelphia.
He went 0-3 as a player in the Stanley Cup Finals (1985, 1987, 1995).

Why he might not be annoying:

He played alongside his father and brother, Marty, as members of the Whalers, when the team was a member of the World Hockey Association.
He was considered one of the NHL's most skilled defensemen during his prime years.
He was a member of the silver medal winning US men's hockey team at the Olympics (1972).
He earned four Stanley Cup rings as a member of the Red Wings front office (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008).
