Why she might be annoying:

Her first album was entitled 'Mrs. Miller's Greatest Hits,' kinda wishful thinking.
In 1985, one of her tracks appeared on 'World's Worst Records, Volume 2.'
Almost all of her songs were cover versions of hits.
Part of her fame was that not only was she off key and out of rhythm, but she missed many of the words in the lyrics.
    At first, she didn't get the joke, saying: 'I don't sing off-key and I don't sing off-rhythm.'
She released an original song, 'Melody,' which quickly tanked.
Her singing was labelled as a 'bizarre operatic style.'
She married John Miller, who was thirty years older than her (1934).
After her success, she financed her own label, 'Mrs. Miller Records,' which was a financial disaster.
    She was extremely proper.
    She was a rotten singer.
    She destroyed many pop standards.

Why she might not be annoying:

She recorded during the same era and on the same label as the Beatles and the Beach Boys (Capitol).
She used her operatic voice during church functions in California.
She regularly appeared on Johnny Carson, Mike Douglas, Ed Sullivan and Jack Paar's Shows.
In 2000, the compilation CD 'The Turned on World of Mrs. Miller' was released.
She was unknown until she was almost sixty.
Even though her music was a farce, she sung it sincerely.
When she became aware of it, she loved that people joked about her voice.
Her version of 'Downtown' scored on the Billboard singles chart.
She performed with Bob Hope for the troops in Vietnam.
Her first album sold a 1/4 of a million copies in it's first three weeks.
She created an 'ice-whistling' technique by placing an ice cube in her mouth for about a 1/4 of hour before whistling, saying it gave her a 'good tight pucker.'
She donated money and time to many charities.
Her apartment building was destroyed in a 1994 California Earthquake.
