The Resume

    (November 7, 1962-March 5, 2015)
    Born in Carbondale, Illinois
'Playgirl' Man of the Year (1992)
Directed, wrote and starred in 'Man of the Year' (1995), a mockumentary about being a closeted gay man promoted as a straight sex symbol
Found dead in his car in West Hollywood, having apparently suffered a heart attack

Why he might be annoying:

He said he posed for 'Playgirl' for 'validation,' because he had never considered himself attractive.
In his 'Playgirl' profile, he listed his favorite actor, actress and movie as Don Rickles, Bonnie Franklin and 'Jaws 3-D.' ('The Advocate' suggested these picks were 'a gay man's desperate stab at the camouflage of tastelessness.')
While hitting the talk show circuit as Playgirl's 'Man of the Year,' he would keep up his straight cover off camera by going out in the evenings to drink and chase women: 'The last thing I wanted to do in New York.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Playgirl's publisher said, 'He was one of the best Men of the Year we ever had.... [He] even went beyond our expectations.'
He became a certified pilates instructor and fitness trainer, with his clients including Katy Perry, Richard Dreyfuss and Tiffani Thiessen.
He was still hot when he posed for Playgirl again on the 20th anniversary of being 'Man of the Year.' (2012)
