The Resume

    (July 22, 1971- )
    Born in Camden, New Jersey
Winner of the fourth season of Food Network Star
Host of Big Daddy’s House (‘In the Kitchen’ weekend, 2008–2011)
Co-author of ‘Simply Done, Well Done’

Why he might be annoying:

There is minor online confusion as to whether he is Christian or Roman Catholic.
Lots of luck catching him without those hoop earrings.
He dropped out of a culinary arts program at community college to help his mother raise his brothers.
He was disappointed to not see a ‘minority’ (small-f) food network channel for chefs of different nationalities. (Perhaps, but what’s Giada, chopped liver?)

Why he might not be annoying:

Since his parents were legit cooks (and he referred to mom as the original pioneer woman), he came by his skills honestly.
Though his parents were nothing but supportive, he freely admits to having had few culinary role models.
At four years old, he would use his sister’s Easy Bake oven to make cakes. (Well, it’s a start, dammit!)
Having seen a few restaurants opened with his Kindergarten friend fold within two years, he understands firsthand the risks involved in brick and mortar establishments.
