Why he might be annoying:

    He sports 'elf-like' facial features.
He is a verbal sparring partner of Alan Colmes.
He came under fire for calling for various liberal celebrities to be arrested for sedition for assorted anti-Bush statements (2006).
He tends to cut off his listeners to go on his own minutes-long tangents.
He backed Newt Gingrich in his ill-fated presidential run.
He somehow was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of having a week-long cameo in a Broadway show, in 2011.
He was accused of Islamaphobic racism after advocating post-9/11 'Muslims Only' zones at airports, saying that 'it's time' to finally scrutinize Muslims (2012).
He slaughtered a live steer on the air as an affront to PeTA (although he gave the meat to the poor).
He came under fire, along with Chris Wallace, for making inappropriate comments about Kelly Clarkson's weight gain, during a Fox News panel discussion.
He attacked Bill Maher and Christopher Hitchens, respectively, as 'a disgraceful little man, bully, horrible human being' and 'a British pseudointellectual' upon whom he wished Hell (banning both from his show).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is active with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle team.
His wife died only a day shy of her 52nd birthday.
He was ranked, by Talkers Magazine, as the sixth most-listened-to radio talk show host in the US.
He has been named among Talkers Magazine's 100 Most Influential Talk Hosts in America for 9 consecutive years.
He sidestepped a potential Limbaugh-Fluke style dustup by apologizing on-air to Clarkson, referring to himself as 'Tubby Mike,' and the last person who should be fat-shaming.
He was sucked into a feud with the Occupy Wall Street movement (when it was still big) after referring to them as 'dopes.'
His foundations have raised funds for Blue-Star/Gold-Star military families and the families of fallen police officers.
He has raised funds for Food for the Poor's house building projects in the poverty-stricken slums of Jamaica (at one point doing a live broadcast in the area).
He repeatedly motioned to prevent the Westboro Baptist Church from protesting funerals of shooting victims; offering them airtime and financial compensation in exchange for not picketing.
