    First person to do a non-stop balloon crossing around the Australian continent (1993)

Why he might be annoying:

    He use to wear thick black rimmed glasses.
    On his Dick Smith Electronics store logo he has his head between Dick and Smith, unintentionally implying that he is Dickhead Smith.
    A lot of the Dick Smith Electronics components are not Australian made but imported from Asia.
    He no longer owns Dick Smith Electronics.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is one of the most successful business men in Australia.
    He now strongly supports products being Australian made and fights for Australia to keep Australian businesses from being sold overseas.
    When he was young, he was into radio and the bush (the scouting movement).
    He boosted CB radio sales in Australia when his Dick Smith Electronics store supplied CB radios in the late 70s when CB radios were legalized in Australia.
    He donated a lot of money to many charities.
    His new enterprise, 'Dick Smith Foods,' has helped to keep more money in Australia.
    His 'Dick Smith Peanut Butter' grabbed an 18% market share after he told the TV audiences that top brands like Kraft and Eta are actually owned by cigarette company Philip Morris, Inc.
    He is adventurous.
    He released 'Fun Way Into Electrics' volumes 1 to 3 and the electronic kits to go with it.
