    Born in Rathcoole, Ireland
    Also known by her married name, Michelle de Bruin
    Won three gold and one bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympics (1996)

Why she might be annoying:

    Janet Evans accused her of doping.
    Her husband/coach, Erik de Bruin, had served a four year ban for using steroids and asked, 'Who says doping is unethical?... For me, doping is a list of banned products, that's all.'
    The International Swimming Federation, FINA, complained about her frequent unavailability for random out-of-competition doping tests.
    She was suspended for four years for tampering with a urine sample (1998).

Why she might not be annoying:

    She single-handedly gave Ireland its second largest medal haul at one Olympics.
    She never failed an in-competition drug test.
    He experience appealing her suspension inspired her to return to college and earn a law degree.
