The Resume

    (June 28, 1973- )
    Born in Montréal, Quebec, Canada
    Raised in Buffalo, New York
Special assistant to the general manager for the Chicago Blackhawks (2001-03)
Director of hockey operations for the Chicago Blackhawks (2003-05)
Assistant general manager of hockey operations for the Chicago Blackhawks (2005-09)
General manager for the Chicago Blackhawks (2009-October 26, 2021)
General manager of the 2022 U.S. Men's Olympic ice hockey team (March 31-October 26, 2021)

Why he might be annoying:

He comes off as being smug and arrogant.
He took credit for the Blackhawks success in the 2010's, despite the fact his predecessor, Dale Tallon assembled the core of those teams.
He made questionable trades and signings for the Blackhawks, and his draft record wasn't exactly stellar either.
He did nothing when a player on his 2010 team was sexually assaulted by one of the team's coaches.
He went as far as telling his executives and coaches to keep their mouths shut about reporting it to the police.
His reason for sweeping the allegations aside was not to distract the team from the goal of winning the Stanley Cup, as the allegations occurred days before the start of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals.
To make matters worse, he gave the coach in question an excellent reference, and the coach proceeded to sexually assault a player in the high school hockey ranks in a different state years later.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of legendary NHL head coach Scotty Bowman.
He was named after the Stanley Cup, as he was born months after his father guided the Canadiens to a championship victory, which was the first of his career.
He majored in finance and computer applications at Notre Dame.
He gradually worked his way up the management ladder with the Blackhawks in a ten year span.
He was able to rebuild the Blackhawks into a contender within a three year period following his breakup of the 2010 team, earning two more Stanley Cup championships along the way.
He overcame a bout of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, after receiving a stem cell transplant.
He resigned from his posts as the general manager for both the Blackhawks and the U.S. Olympic men's hockey team, in wake of the investigation of his handling of the sexual assault in 2010 (October 26, 2021).
