She dyed her hair multiple colors.
She broke her nose twelve times during her career.
She was notorious for illegal kicking and punching.
She called breasts 'tickets' because she said that was what put fans' butts in the seats.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was the first professional athlete to compete in seven decades (from the 40s to the 2000s).
Despite playing the consummate bad girl in the rink, she was considered polite and ladylike in real life.
When longtime rival Joan Weston passed away, she graciously paid tribute to her.
