Why he might be annoying
He comes off as obnoxious in interviews.
He participated heavily in Transcendental Meditation, and was the first Beach Boy to do so.
He has a high, nasal voice.
He has not aged well.
He continued to wears Hawaiian shirts on stage and makes silly hand gestures while singing.
He told Brian Wilson 'don't fuck with the formula' after Wilson produced a number of innovative recordings for his 'SMiLE' project.
Wilson reportedly shelved the project because Love 'didn't like it.'
His solo album 'Looking Back with Love' was called 'the nuclear waste of all Beach Boys product' by the webmaster of BeachBoys.com.
He did not support 'digging into deeper ground' in songs.
As of 2005, he still goes on tour as the 'Beach Boys,' but only with one 'original' member and a bunch of backing musician .
He has aborted a number of solo projects of his over the years.
He sued his cousin Brian twice: first, for credit and royalties for songs he claimed he co-wrote (in some cases only a few words).
Second, for damages for 'shameless mis-appropriation of the Beach Boys name' after Brian released a five-song CD in a newspaper to promote a solo album with Beach Boys songs on it.
He used to drink heavily and hire prostitutes while on tour with the group.
He is proud that he recorded the group's biggest single 'Kokomo' without Brian.
Why he might not be annoying
He has a great stage presence.
He wrote great lyrics to many Beach Boys songs.
He came up with the main 'hook' for 'Good Vibrations.'
He is energetic in his old age.
He was the stage leader of the group.
