Why they might be annoying:

After the commercial failure of 'Forever Changes,' everyone but Lee either quit or was fired.
The band refused to play outside of Los Angeles, reportedly because Lee wanted to stay near his drug supplier.
Lee, MacLean, Echols and Forssi were addicted to heroin.
Lee insisted, 'Without me, there'd be no Jimi Hendrix, no Sly Stone. I was the first so-called black hippie.'
Lee spent five and a half years in jail for illegal possession of a firearm (1995-2001).

Jim Morrison said the Doors' original goal was to be as big as Love.
Jimi Hendrix played on their album 'False Start.'
When Lee was diagnosed with leukemia, Robert Plant, Ryan Adams and Yo La Tengo played at a benefit show for him.
Their songs were used in the movies 'Bottle Rocket' and 'High Fidelity.'
'Forever Changes' remains a classic of psychedlic rock, ranking #40 in Rolling Stone's list of the greatest albums of all time (2003), #82 in Q magazine (1998), #11 in Mojo magazine (1995) and #83 in a survey by British Channel 4 (2005).
