Relief pitcher for the San Diego Padres (1993-97), Cleveland Indians (1998), Detroit Tigers (1998), Oakland Athletics (1998-99), Baltimore Orioles (2000), Chicago Cubs (2000), San Francisco Giants (2001-03; 2006), Philadelphia Phillies (2004-05) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2005)

He lived in the shadow of his older brother.

He posted a career worst 9.82 ERA during his first season with the Phillies.
He struggled as a starter, which was in contract to his excellence in relief roles.
