The Resume

    (July 30, 1972- )
    Born in Orlando, Florida
    Born GloZell Lyneette Simon
    Hollywood-based YouTube personality
Created the 'GloZell Green' channel, in 2008
Channel consists mostly of video interviews, comedy sketches, and parody songs
Channel has over 4 million followers subscribers as of August 2016
Videos on her channel have accumulated over 700 million views as of August 2016
Interviewed President Barack Obama in a controversial YouTube live-stream hosted from The White House (Jan. 23, 2015)

Why she might be annoying:

Her first viral video was 'My Push up Bra will help me get my man.'
GloZell is her actual given name (a combination of her parents' names).
She is known for her outlandish (usually green) wardrobe, complete with emerald-green lipstick.
Many of her skits reinforce demeaning stereotypes about lower-class black women.
Her channel catchphrase is 'Is you okay? Is you!? Good, cause I wanted to know!'
Her various projects and satire videos tend to be variations on the word 'go' with her name ('Glo All In,' 'Pokemon Glo').
She claimed to have angered her husband by cutting off the hoods from all his sweatshirts out of fear that he would be targeted by police officers.
She is known for performing vulgar 'challenge' stunts, usually involving food (e.g. sticking a condom up her nose, bathing in a tub of milk & cereal which she then eats, etc.)
The bizarre nature of her videos provided ammo to pundits on the Right, who argued that Obama was demeaning the office of the Presidency by sitting down for an interview for her.
It didn't help that several of her early videos depicted a welfare queen-character of her's (named Kelonda) rejoicing about voting for Obama because 'He's black! He's black! He's black! There I said it!'
The relative success she enjoyed with her fans from the Obama meeting resulted in Hillary Clinton's people scheduling a similarly pandering interview later the same year (the two took the 'Red Pepper Challenge').

Why she might not be annoying:

She has been called 'The Queen of YouTube.'
She started out performing with The Groundlings.
Many of her satirical 'character' videos have been mistaken for real.
She prepped for her own channel by attending 600 consecutive tapings of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
She did a clever spoof of Oprah Winfrey's 'I Love Bread' Weight Watchers commercial.
One of her hobbies is writing inspirational poetry (a compilation was published in 2014).
Her 'Cinnamon Challenge' quickly went viral and was ranked #4 in The Guardian's 'Viral Video Chart' (Feb. 2012).
Her channel was ranked the 25th most viewed comedy channel on YouTube.
She gained wide notice after a Vlog of her describing her meeting with Elijah Wood was mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
She performed in a Todrick Hall spoof of Disney's 'Belle' number, 'Beauty and the Beat,' along with Danny Trejo, Flavor Flav, Antoine Dodson, and Colleen Ballinger.
For all the flak it got, her Obama interview was largely uneventful and without any real surprises (other than her mistakenly referring to the First Lady as 'the first wife' and catching herself).
