Why she might be annoying:

First you have to get past that kooky coif.
San-DEH (well, there is an accent on that ‘e,’ so duh!).
‘When I was seven I really wanted to be Mariah Carey.’
Emeli is her middle name; care to guess her first name (‘you’ve kind of taken the [name] now, so I went with my middle name’)?
She admitted to two distinct personalities: bossy and noisy with her music, quiet and studious with her education.
She has a tattoo of Frida Kahlo.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her sister – a lawyer – made a video shoot of her, which was entered in a BBC music competition and led to a record deal offer.
Determined that she have a proper education to fall back on – and being the daughter of the first university graduates of their own families –, she completed four years of a six-year neuroscience term.
She lists Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Lauryn Hill as influences.
She wrote her first song at age 11, for a primary school talent program.
Her compositions have been recorded by such artists as Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis — which earned her Simon Cowell’s personal stamp of approval as a songwriter.
She respected her boyfriend’s wishes to not be identified in their private life.
