U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (November 7, 1958- )
    Born in Tucson, Arizona
Republican representing Arizona's 5th district in the US House of Representatives (assumed office January 3, 2017)

Why he might be annoying:

He's a 'Stop the Steal' MAGA Republican.
He chaired the ultra conservative House Freedom Caucus.
Even with the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, he still voted against certifying Pennsylvania's presidential election results.
He voted against funding the September 11 Victims Compensation Fund.
He didn't see any necessity in making Juneteenth a federal holiday in the US.
He freaks out about all things gay marriage.
He was one of the Republicans who held up the start of the 118th Congressional session by opposing Kevin McCarthy's Speaker nomination.
One of the main reasons he found himself in public office? He was financially able to do so after winning $10 million from American Family Publishers.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young, a law degree from University of Arizona, and a master's degree from Arizona State University.
He generally opposes any increased spending measures.
He maintained a good working relationship with (former) 'Democrat' Kyrsten Sinema in the Arizona state legislature and the US Congress.
