Why he might be annoying:

    He acted in television commercials and soap operas, before becoming a general manager.
    His decision to trade the Clippers first round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers came back to haunt him, when the Cavs used it to select Kyrie Irving first overall (2011).
    He was Donald Sterling's right hand man with the Clippers, which some basketball pundits felt the traits of a toxic culture carried over when he was hired in Portland.
    He was described as being mentally abusive towards his employees in Portland.
    He was known to use bullying and intimidation techniques towards anyone who challenged his authority.
    He drew fire from sports panelists for his decision to hire Chauncey Billups as head coach.
    His decision to hire Billups was made worse by the fact that the latter was charged with sexual assault in his rookie season with the Celtics.
    His tenure as Trail Blazers general manager was remembered for not having a clear vision of his on-court product.
    He was fired by the Trail Blazers after a workplace investigation revealed he was engaged in fostering a toxic culture within the organization (December 3, 2021).
    He created a diversion to the media that Becky Hammon was considered a finalist for the Trail Blazers vacant head coaching position to hide the truth he planned to hire Chauncey Billups to the position all along.
    He was tone-deaf when questions about the 1997 sexual assault allegations against Billups were brought up at the latter’s introductory press conference, and got defensive when he refused to answer the questions in regards to his decision, opting to shoot it down altogether.

    He played lacrosse at Le Moyne College.
    He initially planned to pursue a career in acting, before falling back into professional sports.
    He worked at as a basketball development center, prior to landing his gig in the NBA.
    He served in various capacities for the Clippers under Mike Dunleavy, before taking over the reins as general manager.
    He was credited with building the nucleus of the Clippers 'Lob City' teams with shrewd drafting, serviceable trades and signings, and convincing Doc Rivers to leave the Boston Celtics to become head coach.
    He drafted both Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum in Portland.
