No relation to former Minnesota North Stars great Bill Goldsworthy

His nickname was 'Goldy.'
He played on six teams in a nine year span.

He was predominantly used as a checking forward for most of his career.
He was unable to replicate his scoring touch after he left the Canadiens.
His status as being one of the first American-born NHL players is ignored by hockey pundits.

He was the first player in NHL history to wear #75, in an era when players wearing high numbers was unheard of.
He was playing senior hockey in the Edmonton area at the time he elected to turn professional.
He earned a Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Black Hawks (1934).
He and Ray Getliffe set a Bruins franchise record for fastest goals scored by two players (2 goals in 5 seconds; January 4, 1938).
