Why she might be annoying:

She was addicted to cocaine.
Her divorce trial scandalized Palm Beach society.
She accused Herbert of having an incestuous affair with his daughter Liza, only to have Liza testify that Roxanne had propositioned her.
After a psychic testified she held a séance in the Pulitzers' bedroom with a trumpet placed on the bed, the press dubbed her the 'strumpet with the trumpet.'
Before the trial she was offered a Porsche, a $200,000 home and $45,000 a year in alimony and child support, but in the end she lost custody of her children, was ordered out of the family home and was awarded a total alimony of $48,000 ($2,000 a month for two years).

Why she might not be annoying:

Herbert forced her into rehab at gunpoint.
His motive seemed to have less to do with concern about her well-being than with establishing a public record of her drug addiction in preparation for the divorce trial.
She posed for Playboy.
She kidded around with her image in Playboy, posing on a bed with an entire brass section.
