    He only played in eleven games at Duke as a result of injuries.
    He appeared as 'Uncle Drew' in various Pepsi Max commercials.
    He broke his hand after he smacked it against a padded wall, causing him to miss a portion of his second NBA season.
    He was born in Melbourne when his father, Drederick played professional basketball in the country.
    He and his sister were raised by their father and aunt, following the death of their mother.
    He grew up a fan of the New Jersey Nets, and attended the team's home games during the 2003 NBA Finals.
    Despite foregoing his remaining college eligibility in athletic competition, he returned to Duke in the off-season to finish his bachelor's degree.
    He was the first Cavaliers rookie since LeBron to be drafted first overall and earn Rookie of the Year honors in the same season (2012).
