Why she might be annoying:

He first crush was on Norman Bates in ‘Psycho.’
One of her odd jobs as a teen required dressing up as a giant yogurt cone in a tuxedo. (‘Children ran from me.’)
She originally wanted to be a police reporter, but concluded she had ‘no aptitude’ for it.
Her books have been called misogynistic for featuring female villains.

Why she might not be annoying:

‘USA Today’ described her as looking ‘like she’s right out of Sex and the City central casting.’
One of her keepsakes from her ‘Entertainment Weekly’ career is a ‘Lord of the Rings’ poster inscribed ‘To Gillian, a genuine nerd’ by director Peter Jackson.
She said, ‘I could not have written a novel if I hadn't been a journalist first, because it taught me that there's no muse that's going to come down and bestow upon you the mood to write. You just have to do it.’
She said about the misogyny accusations, ‘Isn't it time to acknowledge the ugly side? I've grown quite weary of the spunky heroines, brave rape victims, soul-searching fashionistas that stock so many books.’
