The Resume

    (March 7, 1966- )
    Born in Uruguay
Portrayed Hugh the Borg in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1992-93) and 'Star Trek: Picard' (2020) and Dr. Fernando Morales on The Closer (2007-12) and 'Major Crimes' (2012-17)
Appeared in the films 'Lost Angels' (1989) and 'The Mambo Kings' (1991)

Why he might be annoying:

He auditioned unsuccessfully for the role of Wesley Crusher on 'Star Trek: The Next Generation.' (Then again, considering all the flak Wil Wheaton took, maybe not getting the part was a good thing.)
He portrayed Adam Larson in the pilot of The Mommies, but was replaced by Shiloh Strong when the series was picked up.
He had to return to waiting tables after his appearances in 'ST;TNG' as Hugh: 'It's not pretty to be in L.A. and have had some success and have to say, 'Can I take your order?''

Why he might not be annoying:

When he played with dolls as a child, his parents took him to a therapist to try to get him to act more like a boy.
He was frequently bullied in school.
He worked as a consultant for the Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network.
He received a Visibility Award from the Human Rights Campaign (2013).
He made a memorable impact as Hugh despite appearing in only three episodes each of 'Next Generation' and 'Picard.'
