Why they might be annoying:

They were part of the ill-fated U.S. CFL expansion of the 90's.
They were not truly an expansion team as most of their roster were players from the former World League's Sacramento Surge.
They played in a junky stadium.
The stadium didn't have concessions and was mostly made up of temporary grandstands.
The washroom facilities at Hornet Field were so bad, they had to use port-a-potties.
They failed to draw interest in football mad California.
They lost their first game.
Their uniforms looked similar to those of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were the first American franchise.
They gave away tickets, to lure fans.
They had no Canadians on the roster, because as an American team, they were not obligated to comply to CFL Import rules.
They were the first U.S. CFL team to compete on both Canadian and American soil.
They were the first U.S. CFL team to win a regular season game.
