Football Player
The Resume
(December 2, 1983- )
Born in Chico, California
Played for the Green Bay Packers (2005-)
Attended University of California-Berkeley
Drafted 24th overall by the Packers (2005)
Packers starting quarterback (2008-)
Why he might be annoying
His teammates nicknamed him A-Rod (like the nickname of a famous baseball player).
His spotlight was clouded by fellow Packer quarterback Brett Favre well into Favre's 'retirement.'
When Favre supposedly retired, Rodgers was assumed to succeed him as starting quarterback.
However, after Favre wanted to rejoin the Packers, the presence of Rodgers obstructed the Packers from receiving back their most valued player in modern times.
Sports insiders and Packers fans blame Rodgers and the team's administration for losing Favre to the New York Jets.
He passed up his senior year at Cal to enroll in the 2005 NFL draft.
Why he might not be annoying
In 2004, he had a spectacular season at Cal, helping the team to a fourth place ranking.
He was voted the FedEx Air award winner after passing for 328 yards and three touchdowns in a win against the Detroit Lions.
When Favre was injured at a Thursday night game against the Cowboys, Rodgers stepped in for him and shrank a 17 point deficit into a three point deficit behind Dallas.
