Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His nickname 'Pie' originated from the Pieface character on the candy bar wrappers.
He drew the ire of Ranger fans when he skated to center ice mimicking the Statue of Liberty in a choking position (1972).
When asked about his gesture, he admitted he did it to taunt the Rangers for choking their best chance at ending their Stanley Cup drought.
He opted to sign in the World Hockey Association, when the Bruins told him their plans to leave him unprotected for the 1972 Expansion Draft to stock the rosters of the Atlanta Flames and New York Islanders.
Despite not being a big contributor for the Whalers, it was speculated they retired his #19 to stick it to the Bruins, due to his longtime association with the team.
His #19 was returned to circulation by Peter Karmanos when the Whalers relocated to Raleigh and became the Carolina Hurricanes.

Why he might not be annoying:

He established himself as a core member of the Bruins teams in the 1970's.
He won two Stanley Cup rings as a member of the Bruins.
He briefly served as a player and coach for the Blazers franchise in both Philadelphia and Vancouver.
He served as the first head coach for the hockey team at the Berklee College of Music.
He was described as both a warm personality and an endearing manner that people enjoyed.
