Why he might be annoying:

ee cummings had his name changed so that his initials would be permanently lower case (as did k.d. lang- and it screws up our index!).
He had an affair with a married woman which produced a child.
He married the woman March 19, 1924 and divorced her on December 4 the same year.
His second marriage lasted five years.
His last 'marriage' was actually a cohabitation that lasted until his death.

Why he might not be annoying:

He presented his words in an avant-garde fashion by seeing words as art.
He was a Harvard graduate.
A train accident in 1926 killed his father and seriously injured his mother.
He capitalized his initials for autographs and letters.
His poems were known to be sweet and romantic.
