World Leader

The Resume

    ( -46 BC)
Leader of the Arverni, a Celtic tribe in Gaul (ancient France)
Led Gallic revolt against the Romans led by Julius Caesar (53-52 BC)
Name in ancient Gallic translates to Over-King of Warriors

Why he might be annoying:

His body was covered with blue tattoos.
He had a huge, walrus-like mustache.
A horrible straight-to-video film of his life was made - with Christopher Lambert in the title role.

Why he might not be annoying:

After his surrender and capture, he was paraded throughout Rome as a human trophy, and later ritually strangled.
He used the strategy of ‘scorching the earth,’ which prevented the Roman troops from living off the land.
Since he understood Latin, Caesar was forced to use Greek whenever he needed to send orders to his troops (in case the messages ever got intercepted).
He managed to reunite the Celtic tribes, who were previously divided politically by the Romans in an attempt to rule over them.
He is seen as a French national hero.
