Why she might be annoying:

She suggests using cocoa powder as bronzer makeup.
Her lifestyle drew critics and, unbelievably, haters as well.
She brings jars to the supermarket to hold her meats, cheeses, bulk peanut butter and seafood.
The jars also hold beans, cookies, nuts, pasta, rice and other stuff; all are purchased in bulk.
Instead of toothpaste, which requires a tube that eventually would get thrown away, she has her family using tooth powder (with compostable toothbrushes).
She used pillowcases to hold her bread purchases.

Why she might not be annoying:

She acquired formal art training and education in California.
Her 'zero-waste' lifestyle started when her family downsized their home, prompting her to eliminate excess and thinking about what to do without.
Her home no longer requires garbage pickup services.
She uses re-useable produce bags to hold her fruits and vegetables purchased at farmers markets.
She bases her zero-waste lifestyle on the 'Five R's': Refuse (excess packaging, newspapers, paper and plastic bags, junk mail etc...), Reduce, Reuse (example: using rags instead of paper towels), Recycle and Rot (composting).
To avoid the packaging associated with ready-made and processed foods, she cooks all her family's meals from scratch.
Although she avoids disposable items, she made an exception for toilet paper.
Her family boasts saving lots of money on household expenses through their efforts.
The amount of trash her family makes now in any six-month period she can hold in her two hands.
She says her family's lifestyle gave them more freedom and pleasure out of life as they are not weighed down by clutter.
