    After a suggestion that Steven Hatfill might have been responsible for the 2001 anthrax attacks, Hatfill unsuccessfully sued him for defamation.
    He has criticized the anti-sweatshop movement.
    The consul from Slovenia complained about his use of the country as a 'derisory sort of punchline' in editorials about the US health care system.
    George Clooney called him ‘the sexiest Pulitzer prize winner ever.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He apologized to Steven Hatfill after he was exonerated by the FBI.
    He was one of the first reporters to visit and report of the crisis in Darfur.
    He has shown a lot of bravery, reporting from the middle of dangerous situations.
    CNN's Jeffrey Toobin said, 'I’m not surprised to see him emerge as the moral conscience of our generation of journalists. I am surprised to see him as the Indiana Jones of our generation of journalists.'
