Poet

The Resume

    (March 7, 1998- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
Published the poetry collection ‘The One for Whom Food Is Not Enough’ (2015)
Recited ‘The Hill We Climb’ at the inauguration of President Joe Biden (January 20, 2021)

Why she might be annoying:

She has frequently said that she plans to run for President in 2036 (the first election year that she meets the age qualification).
She forbids her twin sister from posting party photos on social media (presumably to keep them from resurfacing in 2036 as pictures of Amanda).
After the Biden inauguration, she occupied the top three spots on Amazon’s best-seller list – with books that were not going to be printed for several months.

Why she might not be annoying:

She and her twin sister were born prematurely.
Growing up, she had a speech impediment that made it difficult for her to pronounce the letter ‘r’ correctly.
At age sixteen, she founded the nonprofit One Pen One Page to support poetry workshops and promote youth leadership skills.
She graduated cum laude from Harvard.
She was the first person chosen by the Library of Congress to be National Youth Poet Laureate (2017).
Many observers considered her reading the highlight of the inauguration.
