    He was left off the Angels playoff roster, which cost him a chance to be part of the World Series championship team (2002).
    His playing career ended abprubtly due to an elbow injury.
    He was fined by the Mets, after he got into a verbal altercation with a reporter.
    He was suspended by Major League Baseball, after it was revealed he had numerous sexual harassment allegations against him by female reporters and staff (February 1, 2021).

    He served as an insurance policy pitcher for the Angels, a role he excelled in.
    He was an All-Star pitcher during both his seasons pitching in Korea.
    He gradually worked his way up the Cleveland coaching ranks to the pitching coach position with the big club.
    He worked under future Hall of Fame managers Terry Francona and Joe Maddon in his first two job as a major league pitching coach.
    He set a Mets franchise record by posting an 11-1 record in his first 12 games with the team (2018).
