    He was a failed lawyer, composer and painter.
    He loved Mozart’s music so much he changed one of his middle names from Wilhelm to ‘Amadeus.’
    He was hired by the Prussian government to make up German names for Polish Jews.
    He loved Poland, but got kicked out of it for alleged spying.

    He was only 46 when he died.
    He was an insightful music critic.
    He coined the term ‘doppelganger.’
    Sigmund Freud enjoyed his work and wrote about it.
