Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His last name is hard to spell and pronounce.
He was drafted by the Hurricanes, largely because he played on then-owner Peter Karmanos, Jr.’s OHL franchise in Plymouth.
He struggled to make a dent on the Hurricanes depth chart, until the year before he was traded.
Some hockey pundits felt the Hurricanes decision to trade him was because he expected the starters job handed to him, rather than earn it.
His tenure with the Red Wings was plagued with inconsistency.
He accidentally scored in his own net, as he attempted to clear a puck out of his crease (March 10, 2022).

Why he might not be annoying:

He takes pride in his Serbian heritage.
He was the first goaltender in hockey history to score goals in both the ECHL and AHL.
He established himself as a surprise starter for the Hurricanes during the pandemic shortened 2021-22 season.
He posted a 15-5-3 record in his lone full season with the Hurricanes, earning All-Rookie Team honors in the process.
He led the NHL in save percentage during his lone season as the Hurricanes starter.
He embraced his trade to Detroit as he felt it gave him a better opportunity to play full-time.
