Why he might be annoying:

He looked like Eddie Bracken.
He may have unduly capitalized on being James Dean's 'best friend.'
He only knew Dean the last 16 months of his life.
He claimed to have given the idea for Dean to trade his white Porsche 356 Speedster for a Porsche 550 Spyder (and we all know how that worked out).
He got a Twitter account at ninety years old.
An Indiego.com crowdfunding campaign page to do a documentary film about him failed to meet its goal.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a U.S. Army Korean War Vet.
He met James Dean through mutual friend and relative Leonard Rosenman (who was working on the score for 'East of Eden' at the time).
He bonded with Dean over their love of cars - mainly because Warner Bros had barred the movie star from riding motorcycles on the studio lot.
Dean gave him his white Bell racing helmet and signed it for Bracker's first entry in the Palm Springs Road Race (it was later stolen in the 1970's).
Over the years to come, he worked as an insurance salesman, stockbroker, and investment banker.
After Dean's death, in the spring of 1956 he drove from Los Angeles to Indiana in a new 1600 Speedster to visit Dean’s foster parents.
He remained close with Dean's surviving relatives, including his cousin Marcus Winslow Jr.
Robert Altman wrote to him: 'You were his rock - his center. You were straight-solid. You were the base that kept him centered when things were going crazy.'
