Why Milford, Connecticut might be annoying:

It was a milling town for the majority of its early history.
It was the site of a Quaker Oats promotion that saw coupons redeemed for a land deed.
The idea proved to be terrible, as the city couldn't track down many of the deed holders, therefor didn't receive any tax revenue as a result.
It is overshadowed by the likes of New Haven and Bridgeport.
It has hot humid summers, and cold and windy winters.
It had a significant population drop in the early 1800's, going from 2,417 residents to just 742 in the 1810 census.
It became a hub for many blue-blood residents at the turn of the 20th century.

Why Milford, Connecticut might not be annoying:

It served as an integral stop between Boston and New York City during the Revolutionary War.
It has the longest stretch of shoreline for any coastal city in Connecticut .
It serves as a beach resort town, due to its location on Long Island Sound.
It is home to the Milford Oyster Festival, which takes place on the third Saturday in August.
It successfully halted the Quaker Oats land deed promotion through a general foreclosure of the lands in question.
It is home to the Connecticut Post Mall, which is the largest shopping centre in the state.
It is home to the corporate head offices of Subway and Kmart.
