Why he might be annoying:

His book inspired endless '100 Things' knockoffs.
After surviving land diving in Vanuatu and running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, he died after hitting his head in a fall at his home.
Ironically, he did only about half the things in his book before he died.

Why he might not be annoying:

After witnessing 9/11 from the roof of his apartment building, he moved back to California to be near his family.
He added irreverent icons to '100 Things,' representing everything from 'Grandma Approved' to 'Down and Dirty.'
His '100 Things' co-author, Neil Teplica, said, 'It's a credit to Dave - he didn't have enough days, but he lived them like he should have.'
