    Won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Judgment at Nuremberg' (1961)
    Won an Emmy for 'Murderers Among Us: The Simon Wiesenthal Story' (1989)

Why he might be annoying:

    When asked about how the cast felt in regards to 'Judgment At Nuremberg,' he said, 'A lot of people didn't want it done. People wanted to sweep the issue under the rug.'
    His father was a jeweler.
    He looks like Jerry Orbach.
    He died one day after 'Nuremberg' actor Richard Widmark passed away.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served in World War II.
    His experiences with the war and its aftermath inspired him to write the script for 'Judgment at Nuremberg.'
    Upon winning his 1962 Oscar for 'Judgment at Nuremberg,' he stated, 'A writer worth his salt at all has an obligation not only to entertain but to comment on the world in which he lives.'
    He also won an Emmy in 1989 for the script of a made-for-television film about the Nuremberg trails.
    His scripts focus on morally and socially challenging themes.
