    (September 22, 1921-May 15, 2008)
Born in The Bronx, New York
Birth name was Wolf William Eisenberg
Illustrator for EC Comics' 'Weird Fantasies,' 'Two-Fisted Tales,' 'Frontline Combat,' and 'Mad'

Why he might be annoying:

He sent his wife a cow's heart from a slaughterhouse as a Valentine's Day gift.
His illustration of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' in EC's lesser-known humor magazine 'Panic' included a 'Just Divorced' sign on Santa's sleigh, prompting the state of Massachusetts to ban the issue.
He left 'Mad' in a salary dispute, only to end up working for 'Mad'-wannabe 'Cracked.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He served as a mapmaker with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.
He had a chameleon-like talent for imitating the styles of other cartoonists.
His practice of placing additional jokes in the background of panels was adopted by other 'Mad' artists, quickly becoming part of the magazine's signature style.
