Why Eerie, Indiana might be annoying:

It ran for just a single season.
John Astin and Jason Marsden only performed their characters for 5 and 6 episodes, respectively.
Its first full-series DVD release was quickly withdrawn, resulting in online auctions fetching up to $500 for copies.
It was re-released in 2003 on DVD, sparking furor from fans who had paid the high auction prices.
It occasionally took the 'mega-Eerie weirdness' angle one step too far.
An episode featured an 8-track of The Knack's 'My Sharona' as a major plot point.
One episode featured the entire town selling their soul to Satan under hypnosis.
The last episode didn't feature John Astin or Jason Marsden, despite their general regularity in the last few episodes.

Why Eerie, Indiana might not be annoying:

It is now seen as a brilliant show that was cancelled too early.
Guest stars included Rene Auberjonois, Vincent Schiavelli, Stephen Root, Nikki Cox and Tobey Maguire.
Directors included Joe Dante and Bob Balaban.
It provided Jason Marsden with his signature character.
Vance DeGeneres wrote 'Reality Takes a Holiday.'
It was constantly inventive and found new, non-cliched ideas for episodes.
