The Resume

    (December 18, 2017- )
    Airs on NBC
Game show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres
    Format:
Four preliminary rounds of games such as Aw Snap, Dizzy Dash, Oh Ship!, or Runaway Bride
Winners of the preliminaries take turns answering questions in ‘Know or Go’
Winner of ‘Know or Go’ plays a final round identifying pictures of celebs to win up to $100,000

Why Ellen's Game of Games might be annoying:

For some reason, NBC billed it as a ‘reality show.’ (Hey, network execs: just look at the title. It’s got ‘game’ in there twice.)
Several of the games are designed to cover contestants in gunk.
The trivia questions are hardly at Jeopardy! levels of difficulty – or even Joker’s Wild levels – but contestants screw them up anyway.
Contestants constantly plead with Ellen to not get kicked off after answering wrong, when there ain’t a chance in Hell of it working.
Vulture wrote that one of two ways of looking at it is ‘Ellen DeGeneres torturing ordinary people for her own amusement.’

Why Ellen's Game of Games might not be annoying:

Vulture wrote that one of two ways of looking at it is ‘chaotic, silly good fun.’
Ellen usually successfully negotiates from cheering the guests on to snarking at their stupidity.
The preliminary round games were adapted from audience games played on her talk show.
There is an app that lets you play at home and win prizes without getting slime squirted on you.
