Football Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with a science fiction author.
He goes by his middle name, rather then his birth name of John.
He spent the entire 1990 season on the injured list.
Despite being a mainstay on the Ravens roster since the move, his tenure ended as a result of the team drafting Justin Tucker.
He was 42 years old when he played in Super Bowl XLIV, giving him the distinction of being the oldest player to score in a Super Bowl (prior to Tom Brady in Super Bowl LV).

Why he might not be annoying:

He established himself as a solid kicker during his tenures with the Browns and Ravens.
He was considered a valued leader in the Ravens locker room, despite not having the same kind of profile as both Ray Lewis and Jonathan Ogden.
He was a member of the Ravens team that won the franchise's first Super Bowl championship (2000).
He left the Ravens as the franchise's all-time leading scorer.
He was the last active player to have played for both the Browns and <10185>Ravens franchises under the ownership of Art Modell.
