Birth name was Maryam Mohammad Yousif Farhat
Son Muhammad attacked a school in an Israeli settlement in Gaza, killing 5 students and injuring 23 before being shot dead (2002)
Sons Nidal (2003) and Rawad (2005) were killed by Israeli forces while attempting suicide attacks
Was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council as a candidate for Hamas (2006)

Why she might be annoying:

She came to public attention after being filmed advising Muhammad about his suicide attack and giving him her blessing.
She handed out boxes of chocolate and halva to celebrate Muhammad's suicide attack.
She said, 'I wish I had 100 boys like Muhammad. I'd sacrifice them all for the sake of God.'
She said, 'A Muslim mother should raise her children on prayer, good deeds, and, of course, on jihad.'
She appeared in campaign videos toting a gun.
She hid one of Hamas' top bomb builders in her basement for a year.
She said, 'When I see all the Jews in Palestine killed, that will be enough for me.'

She survived three Israeli airstrikes on her home.
She said, 'One sacrifices what is precious, not what is of little value. My children are the most important thing in my life. That is why I sacrificed them for a greater cause.'
