The Resume

    (July 9, 1973-April 18, 1996)
    Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska
    Died in Raymond, Nebraska
Killed in a plane crash at the age of 22
Quarterback for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers (1992-1995)

Why he might be annoying:

He was primarily used as a cleanup quarterback during his tenure with the Cornhuskers.
He failed to turn on the fuel valve upon take off, which was a key factor in his death.
His death came two days prior to the NFL Draft, which he would have considered as a late round pick.
He played only nine games during his four year career at Nebraska.

Why he might not be annoying:

Despite being a backup, he is considered one of the Cornhuskers most influential figures.
He was a member of two National Championship teams (1994, 1995).
He went 7-0 as a starting quarterback during his junior year after starter Tommie Frazier was forced to sit out due to blood clots.
He was posthumously honoured in Sawyer Brown's 1999 song 'The Nebraska Song.'
He was considered a very humble and honest man by family members, former teammates and coaches alike.
Following his death, the University of Nebraska created the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team in his honor and on the tenth anniversary of his passing, erected a statue of him and Tom Osbourne together outside the stadium.
