He sported a fu manchu moustache.
His accolades were overshadowed by those of his older brother's.
He was used primarily as a bench player during his career.
He was fined and placed on a six month probation, after he broke into Dennis Wilson's home and assaulted him in a dispute (1982).

He is a relative to all four members of The Beach Boys, as his brother is Mike Love, and cousins with Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson.
He applied for conservatorship of Brian Wilson, which paved the way for Wilson severing personal and financial ties with Dr. Eugene Landy.
He was inducted into the University of Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame (1994).
He worked as a bodyguard for The Beach Boys following his retirement from basketball.
